Originally this first panel hat such a huge wall of text. Then i thought i redraw mukoshi white on only black background on top of this page to let him talk more - noooo, that was an easy cop out, hence the last page.
His name has several meanings in Japanese. I looked long and hard into how to translate what i want to do with this character. Michio means Man on the correct path - among others. I think. I hope. I have just a very basic understanding of Japanese and looked this up. But to even out this giant pointer to what kind of character he is, his second name - Mukoshi is derived from Mokushi, which means... ta-daaa, APOCALPSE. Written with different Kanji it can mean tacit permission - allowing something to happen.
WHAT COULD THAT MEAN.
It means among other things that almost all names I give do have specific meanings, but theyre researched by somebody with a hopelessly gothic romantic heart. When i was around 12, my characters names where actually Apocalypse, Prince of Darkness, Heven, Aqua, Fire, Terra (guess, what kind of magical girls they were... With Heven being the motherly figure with her ripe old age of 14). While i cringe at this, i think i did not really learn, i just take languages I cannot speak now, which doesnt make this any better...
But then again - i do love japanese Artbooks with very clumsy English or German titles.
