So. Gabriel hid next to the curtain the whole time. Why did she not barbe in, when Barbera put the wire and the pliers to Schroedingers throat? That was a critical moment. To be perfectly honest, I am not 100% sure of how Gabriel was thinking here. While she perceives Schroedinger as glorious angel of goodness, she already has a closer relationship to Barbera and is more interested in keeping this monster in check. While in the end it was not her intention to kill Schroedinger, studying Barbera has a higher priority.
I am sure though, that she would have killed Barbera if Barbera had killed Schroedinger. And Barbera knows this now.
