After pencilling this page i got very mad at myself for having such a hard time with drawing hands. I want to be able to construct them and have hands of different characters be different in gesture. Since I don t draw features very detailed - like angelos head here. yes, he has deep bags under his eyes - but with his age and those bags he d have visible wringkles at other places in his face. In my style this makes for an either dirty looking or hard to read face. I need to carefully construct the face if i need to hint at lots of wrinkles - as i did with Doktor von Stein. Same goes for hands. Jaune has the least damaged hands - but Gabriel, Barber and the Lady work a lot with their hands, so they re much rougher. In a more realistic style i d draw them much differently. But in twisted style? Nevertheless - the hands of somebody like Angelo and Jaune should look more different.
THEN AGAIN... it s also a question of focus. If i put more detail into a hand like that Riiiiippp Panel (which said int he script: Draw Jaune objectified almost as anime-stereotype shredding her clothes to get bandages) with jaune, i want the action with the hands to get more attention than other stuff in that panel. Stil - i sometimes don t adhere by my own rules. All in al - yeah, this page got me really mad and i started studying hands. AGAIN.
