Over last sommer I saw a photo series on Pyramiden - an abandoned mining town in the north of Norway. Sheesh, I loved the whole feeling of it. And one of the Buildings pretty much has the layout I decided the TwistEd house is going to adopt. This page was planned without Text and it would work without cluttering it like I did now. The longer I work on a page, the more dialogue happens in my head. I usually refrain from adding it. Originally I planned a gore entrail like frame around all the driving-panels, since Gabriel usually cranks up aggressive music to get aggressive herself - but that would have disturbed the nice establishing shot. There is some loud music playing in that van to mask escaping screams, but I also liked the Idea of Barbera chatting merrily away.
I started sketching the next chapter. While slightly mocking - I think Barbera was in part really trying here. Of course she doesnt take Jaune or Gabriel seriously, but if they present a source for entertainment other than being frightened or a bouncing-off point for snarky remarks, she d actually start siding with them. The relationship between them shifts in this chapter, so G really missed an opportunity here. I did not put this in consciously ... i just realized this.
